Technology & System Requirements

Technology Requirements

SNWA courses utilize a variety of educational technologies to provide an engaging and interactive learning experience. Students may access the SNWA Learning Management System (Canvas) using a desktop computer, laptop, MacBook, or tablet. However, some courses may require software or features not fully supported on Chromebooks or mobile devices. Students are strongly encouraged to have access to a Windows or Mac computer for optimal course participation.

Course-Specific Requirements

Certain courses may have additional technology requirements. Students should review the Course Information section within Canvas for course-specific software, hardware, or resource requirements.

Recommended Operating Systems

• Windows 10 or later

• macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later

• iPadOS and Android (limited functionality for some courses)

Supported Web Browsers

For the best learning experience, students should use the latest version of:

• Google Chrome

• Microsoft Edge

• Mozilla Firefox

• Apple Safari

Browser Settings

The following browser features must be enabled:

• JavaScript

• Cookies

• Pop-ups (for approved educational sites)

• Audio and video playback capabilities

Internet Requirements

• Reliable high-speed internet connection

• Webcam and microphone for live classes and student-teacher interaction

• Ability to upload assignments and download course materials

Technology Backup Plan

Parents and students should maintain a backup plan for technology and internet access. Computer malfunctions, power outages, or internet disruptions do not excuse missed assignments or class attendance.

If a student experiences a technology issue that affects coursework or attendance, the student or parent must contact the teacher immediately. Timely communication allows the school to provide appropriate guidance and support.

Student Responsibility

Students are responsible for maintaining access to the required technology, monitoring course announcements, attending scheduled classes, and submitting assignments on time throughout the academic year.
